Aftercare Instructions

Once your tattoo is finished your artist
may or may not suggest wrapping It with a bandage. Wrapping is only necessary if
your tattoo is bleeding, its important to let it breathe the first few days of
having it. If your artist does suggest wrapping the tattoo, leave it on no more
than an hour. Do not rebandage your tattoo as it may cause damage to it. Once
you get home you can wash off any blood or plasma with any non-scented, anti-bacterial soap, we
suggest Dial. Stay away from anything scented because the perfume in the soap
will cause stinging and irritation. Once you have lightly washed your tattoo
you may apply your first light layer of Aquaphor. This is what you’re going to
use to heal and take care of your tattoo for the next two weeks. You can find
it at most drug stores in the baby isle.

The healing process of your tattoo
takes 2 weeks, in that two weeks you’re going to apply a light layer of Aquaphor
2-3 times a day. The healing process is different for everyone so your tattoo
may require more or less application. Apply when your tattoo starts to feel
tight or dry. Tattoo may start to peel or itch, leave it alone do not scratch or
pick at it, its completely normal. Do not soak your tattoo for two weeks. No
oceans, lakes, pools. Think of your tattoo as a open wound and treat is accordingly!

Please contact City Roots Tattoo Gallery for any questions.  Seek medical attention if your
tattoo becomes infected or painful, or if you develop a fever shortly after
receiving your tattoo
